Pros & Cons:

This home theater system was only released at the end of March 2013 making the Sony BDV-N7100W is the latest generation of home entertainment systems. It has all of Sony’s latest features and will give you some seriously good quality surround sound. Not to mention the quality it will play films in and all the other extra features it comes with. This home theater system also has one added bonus especially for sports fans. Designed with Sony’s ‘Sense of Quartz’ theme, not only does the Sony BDV-N7100W perform well, but it also looks great with its sharp edges and gleaming surfaces. Its Blu-Ray player will play both 2D and 3D disks in 1080p HD quality, but can even convert 2D films into 3D. It also features 4K up-scaling which means that your DVD’s and Blu-Ray disks will play with 8.8 million pixels. That’s 3840 x 2160 pixels, so that your old favorite films will be brought back to life in a way you’ve never seen before. Not only is the picture quality amazing but the surround sound system is also fantastic and it has a 5.1 channel surround sound.

The Sony BDV-N7100W features built in Wi-Fi that will pick up your existing home Wi-Fi, it can then use this to access hundreds of streaming services and apps. These include features such as YouTube, Amazon Instant Video, Pandora, Netflix and apps that have been designed especially for your TV. It also has Bluetooth to connect with devices such as phones and computers. One of its best features though is its NFC (near field communication), this means that by just touching a smartphone or tablet to the device it will take over playing the music or film. Not only does it the music, but it also uses a digital enhancer to clean up and improve the sound.

As well as all the great features mentioned above, the Sony BDV-N7100W can be easily adapted and integrated as it comes with dual HDMI inputs, 1 HDMI output, and also has USB ports, even one at the front so you can easily upload photos or other media. It has five speakers which use magnetic fluid technology to give you the best quality of sound and the rear speakers are even wireless. This means you don’t have to drape messy wires across your room any more. Their special feature for sports fans gives you the opportunity to turn the commentary off while you’re watching a game to give you a better experience that allows you to feel like you’re right there in the stadium.

The Sony BDV-N7100W home theater system has everything you could ever wish for, especially for sports fans. Its integrated Wi-Fi technology and its one touch NFC means that there’s almost no end to what the device can do. Its magnetic fluid technology means you get great distortion free sound, with films and music. It brings to life and enhances old DVD’s making movie nights as good as going to the cinema. For all its features it comes with a respectable price tag and is great value for money.
